Guwahati Airport pickup - (Check with us for flight timings) Drive for approximately 270 kms, 8 hrs of journey to Bomdila. The beautiful town of Bomdila will offer you with the majestic Himalayas bestowing their shadow upon the town. Wrapped around in a cool breeze and pleasant climate, Bomdila is home to both Hindu and Buddhist temples. After a long day of air and road travel we will loose up with a short walk to the local eateries in this quaint town offering a delectable array of flavors that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region. Savour the mouthwatering delicacies like Thukpa, a hearty noodle soup, or Momos, steamed dumplings filled with a variety of wholesome fillings. Overnight stay in a homestay.
Breakfast and prepare for a drive approximately 170 kms, 5 hrs of journey. We'd have breakfast and then visit Bomdila Monastery. Proceed to Tawang, en-route visit to Sela Pass located above 14000 ft. Visit Jaswanth Singh War Memorial, a hero of the 1962 Indo-China war. Visit Nuranag Falls, this enticing beauty of milky white water is enthralling and thunderous ovation for those visiting this place. Check-in hotel, Overnight stay in Hotel.
Have breakfast, and prepare for a full day of local places in Tawang. Visit Tawang Monastery, the largest monastery in India and also the birthplace of 6th Dalai Lama. Explore the local markets and interact with the Monpa tribe. Visit Tawang War Memorial, dedicated to the soldiers who fought in the 1962 Indo-China War. Visit the local market & town savouring some local delicacies. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Embark on a day trip to Bumla Pass, located at the Indo-China border. You may wonder, why are there so many bunkers on the Tawang to Bumla road? It was because the Chinese had intruded as far as Tezpur during the 1962 China-India war and the bunkers were made in a hurry to combat the enemy troops. Explore the beautiful Shonga-tser Lake. Enjoy scenic views of the surrounding mountains and landscapes. Overnight stay in Tawang
After having breakfast proceed to Dirang. (Approximately 150 Kms and 5 hours of journey). Dirang Dzong or Dirang fort was built in the 17th century to protect Bomdila from the neighbouring states. In fact during the infamous Vietnam War, the fort was used as a jail and in world war period, this fort was used as a shelter. After the guided walk we proceed to our tranquil homestay in a remote valley called Sangti. Reach post lunch time - check in and relax. Sangti Valley is home to the endangered black-necked cranes, which migrate here during the winter months. Post lunch we will explore Sangti Valley on a river trail. We return by Hi tea and relax for the rest of the day at the cosy homestay.
Have breakfast and proceed to Bhalukpong. Approximately 170 KMs and 5 hours of journey. Have lunch on the way near Tippi and also visit the Orchid research center, reach Nameri Eco Camp by 2:00 pm. Check-in to our camp and step out for river rafting to Nameri National Park this experience in Kameng River is the only tiger reserve in India where you can go rafting. Return from the excursion and relax of the day
Today we will start our day at 5:00 am for a birding trail on foot. Hike for 7 kms - approximately 3 hours and return to the camp for breakfast. Post breakfast we can choose to relax by the river or go for another round of river rafting. This self contained voyage allows you to take home snapshots and memories of a distant land so special and wild, that you'll be thinking about it long after you have returned to your civilized world routine !
After having breakfast at 8 am, proceed to Guwahati Airport- 250 kms and 6hours drive. Reach Guwahati Airport by 3:00 pm. Plan flights post 6 pm.
